EUCABLIGHT

EUCABLIGHT  ‘A Late Blight Network for Europe’ is a new EU funded Concerted Action which started on 1st Feb 2003 and aims to establish a network of scientists working on late blight resistance and Phytophthora infestans population biology. The project will run for 3 years and will be coordinated by The Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI) in Dundee. There are 24 partners from 15 countries in the consortium. The main aims of the project are the standardization of methods for assessing host resistance to late blight, the characterization of P.infestans populations and the collation and dissemination of new and existing data across Europe and worldwide. These aims will be achieved through meetings, training workshops and the sharing of information through the EUCABLIGHT website and databases. The results will be combined with existing knowledge on integrated control of late blight and the worldwide activities of GILB.
