The state of New York has granted registration for a new fungicide for use on potatoes, tomatoes and cucurbits. Gavel 75DF (Dow Agrochemicals) fungicide has been accepted for use on potatoes, tomatoes and cucurbits in New York State. Gavel contains the active ingredients zoxamide and mancozeb. In potatoes, Gavel controls late blight and early blight. University studies show that Gavel also helps protect potatoes from late blight tuber rot.
